Helsínquia: Era da pós-confiança e da verdade que depende da autenticidade

A conferência “Unlocking Media Literacy: Shaping Tomorrows’s Minds” contou com a participação de Vítor Tomé, investigador responsável pela área da Literacia no interior do projeto IBERIFIER. O encontro que se realizou em Helsínquia, Finlândia, nos dias 17 e 18 de julho, teve como objetivo analisar conceitos e práticas de media literacia desenvolvidas no mundo complexo em que nos situamos e procurou trazer a público as experiências que estão a ser realizadas em diferentes países e regiões.

Vítor Tomé, que participou no painel “Integrity of Information: How to Believe in The Information We Consume and Avoid Confirmation Bias?”, explicou que se passou do tempo da pós-verdade para o tempo da pós-confiança, citando Basol (2024), e que a informação hipermediada está a ultrapassar a polarização entre a verdade e a confiança.

No seu entender, a nova verdade é a velha verdade jornalística, a que negociamos em função da informação e da confiança que tempos, dos sentidos que negociamos com aqueles que confiamos, ou seja, considerou que a nova verdade está na autenticidade, sendo que todos nós somos “gatekeepers”, em linha com o que é proposto e defende Gustavo Cardoso (2023).

Vítor Tomé lembrou ainda que Portugal é um dos países onde mais se confia nas notícias, ocupando o 3º lugar em 2023 e 6ª posição em 2024, segundo o relatório Digital News Report, mas também onde quatro em cinco jornalistas admite já ter disseminado desinformação.

Alexandre Sayad foi o moderador deste painel e os restantes palestrantes foram Yonty Friesem, dos Estados Unidos e Maarit Jaakola, da Suécia e Finlândia.
