IBERIFIER participates in the International Conference on Language and Culture Observatories

From May 19 to 21, the International Conference of Language and Culture Observatories (Conferencia Internacional de Observatorios de las Lenguas y las Culturas) will take place in La Rioja, Spain. The event is organized by the Global Observatory of Spanish of the Instituto Cervantes and the Foundation for the Transformation of La Rioja. Over three days, more than a dozen international experts will discuss the creation of a network of observatories dedicated to languages and cultures.

Ramón Salaverría, coordinator of the Iberian Digital Media Observatory – IBERIFIER, will participate in several activities, including a thematic panel discussion. His presentation will focus on IBERIFIER’s contribution to monitoring digital media and disinformation, as well as its connection to the Spanish language and culture within the Iberian context.

IBERIFIER, a leading reference in the study of digital media in the Iberian Peninsula, has been invited to share its expertise in monitoring communicative phenomena and their impact on languages and cultures. Salaverría will present his perspective on how digital technologies and social media are transforming the linguistic landscape in the Iberian region.

On May 20, Salaverría will join other experts to discuss various approaches to language observatories and their potential to foster closer connections between institutions focused on language and cultural research. Throughout the session, participants will explore strategies to establish an international network of observatories to facilitate ongoing knowledge exchange and best practices in language monitoring.

This event will provide IBERIFIER with the opportunity to strengthen its collaboration network with other observatories and centers dedicated to linguistic, cultural, and communicative research.

The conference will conclude on May 21 with a roundtable discussion addressing the future of language and culture observatories in the 21st century. Salaverría will share his insights on the role of digital media in the preservation and evolution of language.

Entre el 19 y el 21 de mayo, se celebra en La Rioja, España, la Conferencia Internacional de Observatorios de las Lenguas y las Culturas, un evento organizado por el Observatorio Global del Español del Instituto Cervantes y la Fundación para la Transformación de La Rioja. Durante tres días, más de una decena de expertos internacionales analizarán la creación de una red para observatorios dedicados a las lenguas y culturas.

Ramón Salaverría, coordinador del Observatorio Ibérico de Medios Digitales – IBERIFIER, participará en diversas actividades y en una de las mesas temáticas del evento. Su intervención estará centrada en la contribución del IBERIFIER a la observación de los medios digitales y la desinformación, así como en su relación con la lengua española y la cultura en el contexto ibérico.

IBERIFIER, un referente en el estudio de los medios digitales en la península ibérica, ha sido invitado a aportar su experiencia en la observación de los fenómenos comunicativos y su impacto en las lenguas y las culturas. Salaverría compartirá su visión sobre cómo las tecnologías digitales y las redes sociales están transformando el panorama lingüístico ibérico.

Durante la jornada de trabajo, que se celebrará el 20 de mayo, Salaverría analizará junto a otros expertos los diferentes enfoques de los observatorios de lenguas y su potencial para establecer conexiones más estrechas entre las instituciones dedicadas a la observación de lenguas y culturas. A lo largo de la sesión, se debatirán estrategias para crear una red internacional de observatorios que permita un intercambio constante de conocimientos y buenas prácticas en el campo de la observación lingüística.

Este evento permitirá que IBERIFIER, a través de su experiencia en la observación de los medios digitales y la desinformación, fortalezca su red de colaboración con otros observatorios y centros dedicados a la investigación lingüística, cultural y comunicativa. La conferencia culminará el 21 de mayo con una mesa redonda que abordará el futuro de la observación de las lenguas y las culturas en el siglo XXI, en la que Salaverría compartirá sus reflexiones sobre el papel de los medios digitales en la preservación y evolución del lenguaje.
