Bienvenido León participates in the international PCST 2025 conference in Aberdeen

Bienvenido León, Professor of Science Communication and researcher at IBERIFIER, participated in the international PCST 2025 conference held in Aberdeen, Scotland. This event, considered one of the world’s leading forums in the field of public communication of science and technology, brought together experts from around the globe to discuss current trends and challenges in the sector.

Disinformation was one of the key topics at this year’s conference. Bienvenido León took part in a roundtable focused on methods for researching disinformation about climate change, where he presented the IBERIFIER Plus project. He shared the panel with researchers from the United States, Brazil, and Germany, highlighting international approaches to tackling this pressing issue.

The PCST 2025 conference, held biennially, featured keynote lectures, roundtables, and workshops on innovative strategies to bring science closer to society, consolidating its status as a key event for those working in the field of science communication.

Bienvenido León, catedrático de Comunicación de la Ciencia e investigador de IBERIFIER, ha participado en el congreso internacional PCST 2025, celebrado en Aberdeen (Escocia). Este evento, considerado uno de los principales foros mundiales en el ámbito de la comunicación pública de la ciencia y la tecnología, reunió a expertos de todo el mundo para debatir sobre las tendencias y retos actuales en el sector.

La desinformación fue uno de los temas destacados en esta edición del congreso. Bienvenido León intervino en una mesa redonda dedicada a los métodos para investigar la desinformación sobre el cambio climático, donde presentó el proyecto IBERIFIER Plus. Compartió panel con investigadores de Estados Unidos, Brasil y Alemania, en un debate que puso de relieve enfoques internacionales para abordar este desafío.

El congreso PCST 2025, que se celebra cada dos años, ofreció conferencias magistrales, mesas redondas y talleres sobre estrategias innovadoras para acercar la ciencia a la sociedad, consolidándose como una cita imprescindible para quienes trabajan en el ámbito de la divulgación científica.
