IBERIFIER promotes teacher training in Navarra: New course on Disinformation, AI, and Critical Thinking

The Department of Education of the Government of Navarra has announced a new edition of the course “Disinformation, AI, and Critical Thinking” (Desinformación, IA y pensamiento crítico). This training program is specifically designed to provide educators with both theoretical and practical tools to navigate today’s complex disinformation ecosystem.

The course features the expertise of two IBERIFIER researchers: Charo Sádaba and Ramón Salaverría, professors at the University of Navarra and internationally recognized experts in digital journalism and media literacy.

Why is this training essential? In a landscape shaped by the rise of Generative Artificial Intelligence and the rapid spread of digital content, the classroom has become the front line of defense. The course aims to:

  • Understand the impact of AI on the creation and dissemination of hoaxes.
  • Develop critical thinking strategies applicable to the school curriculum.
  • Provide resources for students to learn how to verify sources and content.

At IBERIFIER, we celebrate the transfer of knowledge from our observatory directly to the educational community, strengthening the resilience of future generations against information manipulation.
