IBERIFIER participates in ANIS meeting calling for a National Strategy against health disinformation

The Spanish Association of Health Communicators (ANIS) recently led a strategic session aimed at addressing one of the most pressing challenges for public health: the proliferation of hoaxes and disinformation narratives. During the meeting, communication and healthcare professionals formally called for the creation of a National Strategy against health disinformation.

The event highlighted the need for a coordinated and multidisciplinary response to protect the integrity of health information. In this context, Ramón Salaverría, Professor at the University of Navarra and coordinator of IBERIFIER, actively participated in the forum, providing the academic and research perspective of the European project in the fight against information manipulation.

IBERIFIER’s presence at this meeting reinforces our consortium’s commitment to knowledge transfer towards critical sectors. Collaboration between fact-checkers, researchers, and health professionals is a fundamental pillar for strengthening citizen resilience and guaranteeing the right to accurate and verified information.
