IBERIFIER, a flagship project in Navarra during the 5th Europe Week

The IBERIFIER Plus project was presented as a flagship initiative in Navarra in the field of research and digital innovation during a technical workshop held at the IRIS Navarra Digital Innovation Hub, as part of the 5th Europe Week in Navarra. The event focused on European funding opportunities for digital transformation projects and was organised in collaboration with the Directorate-General for External Action of the Government of Navarra.

Throughout the session, the key aspects of the Digital Europe Programme 2025–2027 were addressed. This programme is the European Commission’s main instrument to support the digital transition of companies, public administrations and other organisations. In this context, IBERIFIER Plus was highlighted as an example of a project aligned with European priorities in cooperation, applied research and the strengthening of the digital space.

Representing the project, Ramón Salaverría, coordinator of IBERIFIER, took part in two key segments of the programme. First, he presented IBERIFIER Plus as a success case within the Digital Europe Programme, sharing his experience coordinating a European project and outlining its journey from securing funding to implementation. He then participated in a roundtable discussion reflecting on the opportunities, benefits and barriers associated with participation in European projects, offering expert insights based on the consortium’s direct experience.

The event combined an institutional perspective with practical guidance and real-world experiences, highlighting the role of IBERIFIER as a strategic project within the European digital research and innovation ecosystem, as well as the importance of such forums in showcasing the talent and research capacity present in Navarra.
