Vítor Tomé, who leads the project’s Media Literacy strand, took part in the 7th Almada School Libraries Conference on 7 July 2026, delivering the presentation “Learning in an Algorithmic World: Which Skills Make the Difference?”.
The presentation formed part of the conference “Thinking, Questioning and Repositioning the School Library”, held at the Professor Ruy Gomes Primary and Secondary School in Almada. It explored the essential skills required for learning and exercising active, critical citizenship in a world increasingly shaped by algorithms and artificial intelligence.
The presentation delivered by Vítor Tomé highlighted the crucial role of media and information literacy in addressing the challenges of the digital age, emphasising the need to equip citizens with the skills to understand, critically evaluate and responsibly use digital content and technologies.
