Cabo Verde: AI and Disinformation training for 40 teachers

Another media literacy session was held for 40 teachers from all levels of education, focusing on the themes of Artificial Intelligence and Disinformation. The session took place on 19 May, in the Auditorium of Horace Silver School, in the city of Porto Inglês, on Maio Island, Cabo Verde.

The training, which includes a pre-test and post-test, is part of a collaborative project between IBERIFIER and the NGO Magnalingue, which has enabled the training of teachers in areas such as Digital Citizenship, combating disinformation, and artificial intelligence in education.

The results of the work carried out over the past five years will be presented at the Thessaloniki Conference on Global Media and Culture 2025, which will take place in Salonica, Greece, on 2 and 3 July. In addition to the teacher training, Vitor Tomé led the conference “Artificial Intelligence”, which was later held in the Isaac Pinheiro Grand Hall, at the headquarters of the Maio Municipality.
