The IBERIFIER researchers’ meeting in Barcelona, held on 19 and 20 February, featured three key moments of scientific exchange. These included a panel on “Disinformation in Climate Change”, another on “The Use of LLMs and Gender Issues”, and a presentation by Lucas Graves, one of the leading experts in fact-checking. The meeting took place at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.
In the panel “Disinformation in Climate Change”, moderated by Pablo Hernández from Maldita.es, the participating researchers were Carolina Fernández from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Ana Serra from Universitat de València, Marilín Gonzalo from Newtral, and Marc Massip from Verificat.
Lucas Graves, an American professor and author of Deciding What’s True: The Rise of Political Fact-Checking in American Journalism, and currently a member of the faculty and research staff at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, presented an analysis of “Fact-checking in the post-platform moment”, which is available on the IBERIFIER YouTube channel.
In the panel on Artificial Intelligence and Gender, “The Use of LLMs and Gender Issues”, moderated by Roberto Gelado from Universitat CEU San Pablo, the participants were Carolina Belver Aguilar from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Nereida Carrillo from Learn to Check, Joana Gonçalves-Sá from the Laboratório de Instrumentação e Física Experimental de Partículas, and Marisa Gómez, representing an NGO platform.
