Portugal acima da média europeia no consumo ilegal de imprensa e filmes

O acesso indevido a conteúdos online é significativo. 930 mil portugueses admitem ser consumidores ilegais de jornais, revistas, filmes, música, segundo o inquérito conduzido pelo Instituto da Propriedade Intelectual da União Europeia (EUIPO), realizado entre meados de 2019 e 2020, divulgou o relatório Obercom, parceiro do Iberifier. Portugal situa-se ligeiramente acima da média europeia, com 9% da população, quando a média está nos 8%. Espanha, por exemplo, registou 10%.

Segundo o relatório “Distribuição digital não autorizada de jornais em Portugal”, a situação revela-se problemática porque as gerações mais jovens demonstram uma maior propensão para consumir qualquer conteúdo não autorizado. A média europeia de 8% sobe para 23%, considerando exclusivamente esta faixa etária.

A este dado junta-se a tendência para os jovens consumirem menos notícias através do acesso direto aos sites de notícias. Ou seja, os mais novos preferem consultar informação nas redes sociais e através de aplicações de mensagens, indica o relatório Obercom https://obercom.pt/distribuicao-digital-nao-autorizada-de-jornais-em-portugal-dados-impactos-e-perspetivas-os-casos-de-whatsapp-e-telegram/.
