New publication: Innovative innovation in journalism

José-Sixto García and Xosé López-García, two IBERIFIER researchers, have recently published an article examining the adoption of innovative processes in the journalistic field over the past 23 years. Their study utilized an ad hoc analysis sheet based on innovation categories to score various elements from low to high. This tool was applied to examine narratives, data journalism, audience involvement, co-creation, verification, ethics, corporate information, and content distribution across widely consumed news sites in Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Africa. The findings reveal no significant regional differences in evolving trends, although European and American news sites tend to offer a broader range of innovative options compared to those in Africa and Asia.
