Dismantling hoaxes: the weekly section on disinformation on Radio Euskadi

In a hyperconnected world, where social networks and digital platforms have transformed the way we access information, disinformation has become one of the main threats to society. Hoaxes, fake news and misleading content spread at breakneck speed, affecting personal decisions, social perceptions and democratic processes.

In this context, Anais Sánchez Hualde, manager of the Iberifier Plus project, explains and denies the most popular hoaxes of the week, every Thursday on the Boulevard II program on Radio Euskadi. In this section dedicated to disinformation, the researcher shares the most notable national and international falsehoods, echoing the verification work carried out by the project’s fact-checkers. She also offers listeners some tips and tools to detect, or at least question, misleading content spread daily.

In the program directed by Iñaki Espiga, the researcher addresses current issues, such as scams directed at users through social networks and SMS, disinformation linked to political elections, hoaxes related to natural disasters such as Dana in Valencia, or the misleading messages about immigration, feminism and health. To do it, she has the support of the work carried out by the verifiers that are part of the observatory: Maldita, Newtral, Efe Verifica, Verificat and Polígrafo.

If you want to know the most widespread hoaxes in digital media and learn to distinguish what is true from what is false, to do your part against disinformation, tune in to Radio Euskadi on Thursdays at 10:00.

Also, you can re-listen to the programs broadcast here.
