Fact-checking: Disinformation about the blackout in Spain and Portugal

A pro-Russian disinformation campaign is spreading false claims on social media about the blackout in Spain and Portugal, with messages in four languages attributing the cause of the blackout to European sanctions against Moscow and impersonating international media outlets.

Some accounts and websites reproduced these messages are part of pro-Russian disinformation networks known for their involvement in previous manipulation operations, as detected by the Antibot4Navalny collective and EFE Verifica.
