IBERIFIER at the Government of Navarra’s Digital Competence in Education Conference

On Thursday, June 5, 2025, Ramón Salaverría, Professor of Journalism and coordinator of IBERIFIER, will take part in the Digital Competence in Education Conference organized by the Department of Education of the Government of Navarra at the Baluarte Conference Centre and Auditorium.

The event will bring together teachers, school leadership teams, and educational technology specialists to reflect on how to lead the digital transformation in schools. Based on the Digital Teaching Competence Framework (MRCD) and aligned with the principles of the LOMLOE, the conference aims to promote the ethical, safe, and critical use of technology, recognizing digital competence as key to students’ development.

Among other speakers, the event will feature experts such as Montserrat Rigall, who will discuss the strategic use of emerging technologies to foster critical and creative thinking, and Nacho Guadix, Head of Education and Digital Rights for Children at UNICEF Spain, who will offer an expert perspective on protecting children in digital environments.

Ramón Salaverría will lead the afternoon session with a lecture focused on combating disinformation and fostering critical thinking among students. He will also engage in a dialogue with Montserrat Rigall on strategies for integrating media literacy into daily teaching practice. The conference will conclude with practical workshops designed to provide teachers with tools and resources applicable to their classrooms.

El próximo jueves 5 de junio de 2025, Ramón Salaverría, catedrático de Periodismo y coordinador de IBERIFIER, participará en la Jornada sobre Competencia Digital Educativa organizada por el Departamento de Educación del Gobierno de Navarra en el Palacio de Congresos y Auditorio Baluarte.

La jornada reunirá a docentes, equipos directivos y especialistas en tecnología educativa para reflexionar sobre cómo liderar la transformación digital en los centros escolares. Bajo el marco del Referente de la Competencia Digital Docente (MRCD) y en sintonía con la LOMLOE, el evento busca promover un uso ético, seguro y crítico de las tecnologías, reconociendo la competencia digital como clave para el desarrollo integral del alumnado.

Entre otros ponentes, la jornada contará con la intervención de expertos como Montserrat Rigall, quien abordará el uso estratégico de las tecnologías emergentes para fomentar el pensamiento crítico y creativo, y Nacho Guadix, responsable de Educación y Derechos Digitales de UNICEF España, que ofrecerá una visión experta sobre protección de la infancia en entornos digitales.

Ramón Salaverría protagonizará la sesión de tarde con una ponencia dedicada a combatir la desinformación y fomentar el pensamiento crítico en el alumnado. Además, dialogará con Montserrat Rigall sobre estrategias para introducir la alfabetización mediática en el aula. La jornada se completará con talleres prácticos destinados a proporcionar al profesorado herramientas y recursos aplicables en su actividad diaria.
